Dr. Ahmadi, a Madison native, has been in practice in Southeast Wisconsin since 2011 and began practicing with Eye Physicians & Surgeons January 2023. She is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist who enjoys seeing patients of all ages and managing a variety of ophthalmic conditions, including cataract surgery, dry eyes, glaucoma, laser surgery including LASIK, and injections for wet macular degeneration and diabetic macular edema. Dr. Ahmadi was named by Castle Connolly as one of Milwaukee areas “Top Doctors” in ophthalmology for 2022.
Dr. Ahmadi’s interest in ophthalmology sparked when she was 14 years old. She was accepted into the Research Apprentice Program which allowed her to spend three summers in high school doing research at the University of Wisconsin (UW) Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences. Her research primarily focused on uveal melanoma and identifying growth factors that could be targeted to inhibit its growth.
Dr. Ahmadi went to UW-Madison for her Bachelor of Science and graduated with comprehensive honors in molecular biology. While in school, she was awarded the UW Athletic-Academic Award for her performance on the UW women’s lightweight rowing team and top grades. She was also one of fifteen students nationwide awarded the Pfizer Fellowship which allowed her to continue research in ophthalmology and present her findings at a poster symposium at Pfizer Headquarters.
Dr. Ahmadi went on to complete her medical degree at the UW School of Medicine & Public Health and her internship and ophthalmology residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Michigan. She had the opportunity as a resident to present an unusual corneal infection she managed at a national meeting.
Dr. Ahmadi enjoys spending time with her family, backpacking/hiking, mountain biking, wakeboarding/wakesurfing and watching Wisconsin sports.
