Dr. Solverson began practicing with Eye Physicians & Surgeons in 2012. Dr. Solverson practices comprehensive ophthalmology including cataract surgery, LASIK, glaucoma, as well as injections for wet macular degeneration. Dr. Solverson is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is on staff at Lakeland Medical Center and Burlington Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Solverson graduated Senior 100 Honorary from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Honors Biology and obtained his Osteopathic medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. Dr. Solverson completed his internship and ophthalmology residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington where he was Chief Resident.
Dr. Solverson Served as a Major in the United States Army during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. He served a tour of duty in Germany at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center where his primary responsibility was to consult for routine and urgent eye care to the injured servicemen and women serving in the Middle East, Africa, and Europe; as well as sharing in the care of LASIK surgery patients. He was awarded a Commendation Medal for his achievement on an eye surgery mission to Honduras.
Dr. Solverson’s research, publications, and presentations include those that examine learning and memory, as well as the use of virtual reality simulation to hone surgical skills, which have been published in the peer-reviewed journal, Simulation in Healthcare. He has presented at the annual meetings for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and the Society for Neuroscience.
Dr. Solverson and his wife, Jo have four children – Isaac, Jed, Gabe, and Sophie. He enjoys running, skiing and playing the piano.
